Blue Man Group Lyric Theatre Star Casino Darling Harbour

Blue Man Group is not just a show, it’s a state of mind. Best known for its wildly popular theatrical productions and concerts that combine electrifying music, sensational technology, comedy and multimedia theatrics to produce a totally unique form of entertainment, Blue Man Group creates experiences that defy categorization. Performances feature three bald and blue characters who take the audience on a journey that is funny, intelligent and visually stunning in a blissful party atmosphere. Blue Man Group is accompanied by a live band whose tribal rhythms help drive the show to its unforgettable climax.
Having utterly redefined the term “live entertainment,” Blue Man Group (like all great icons) continues to reinvent itself. The wildly popular show now combines signature moments with breathtaking new pieces that simultaneously employ and skewer today’s cutting edge technology. It makes for an explosive evening of entertainment. New sections include Blue Men interacting with “GiPads” (think Gigantic iPads), a funny and perceptive look at contemporary modes of communication; and a pulsating new finale featuring an original Blue Man Group music score that will have guests jumping to their feet.
Having first performed twenty five years ago, to date over 25 million people across the globe have seen a live Blue Man Group performance. Blue Man Group’s wildly successful rock concert arena tour, Megastar World Tour, visited nearly 300 cities across the United States and performed in over 10 countries and has been experienced by over 2 million people. Blue Man Group’s debut album, Audio, not only went Gold but also garnered a GRAMMY nomination. Today, Blue Man Records is prolific in recording albums, producing DVDs and documentaries and collaborating on the scores of hit television shows and major motion pictures.

SYDNEY INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW

46th SYDNEY INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW CELEBRATES 25 FABULOUS YEARS AT DARLING HARBOUR
In preparation for the redevelopment of the current exhibition centre, the Sydney International Boat Show is planning to celebrate its 25th year at Darling Harbour with what is shaping up to be one of the best shows on record.

With education and entertainment at the forefront of the planning, the line-up of things to see and do for visitors will be a fascinating addition to all the marvellous boats, products and gear for them that the event traditionally serves up.

But the show won’t be away from Darling Harbour for long with its Marina display remaining exactly where it is during the development period and the hall exhibits going just around the corner to a great interim facility at Glebe Island.

All this in preparation for 2017 when the venue will reopen its doors as one of the world’s leading exhibition venues. All this in time for the Sydney International Boat Show to celebrate its 50th event in 2017 at the new venue.

The 2013 Sydney International Boat Show, owned and organised by the Boating Industry Association of NSW, will operate from 10am to 8pm daily within the halls and 10am to 6pm on the marina.

King Street Wharf Festival 2013 Darling Habour

There's a new food festival coming to town
King Street Wharf will be fuelling our love affair for all things food by playing host to Sydney's newest culinary event on Friday 19 – Thursday 25 July 2013.

On The Wharf (Friday 19 – Saturday 20 July 2013 / 12noon-4pm)
During this two day festival, make your way down to King Street Wharf for lunch under Sydney's blue Winter skies. Spoil your taste buds with food boasting flavours from around the world. Or simply soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the live music. Plates will be priced from $5-$12 each - so you can sample a few dishes without breaking the bank.

Dishes include arancini balls ($8) from Casa Di Nico, green chicken curry rice ($10) from I Thai, quesadillas ($12) from La Cita, chilli coconut prawns ($12) from The Malaya and mini beef bourguignonne pies ($12) from Steersons Steakhouse. I know I will be making a bee line to Vessel Italian & Bar to indulge in their homemade tiramisu ($5) and ricotta filled cannoli ($5).

In The Restaurants (Friday 19 – Thursday 25 July 2013)

The restaurants and bars along King Street Wharf will also take part in this culinary celebration. There will be opportunities to meet the chefs, special wine tastings, live music and dancing. A few of the restaurants have menus specially designed for the festival.

So whether you have a craving for Japanese at Kobe Jones or at Wharf Teppanyaki which features the largest teppanyaki table in Australia; want to indulge in a Mezze feast at Mediterranean Bar & Grill; tuck into a main of lamb shank with soft polenta gremolata at The Hudson; or simply enjoy a drink by the waterfront at the Cargo Bar or Bungalow 8, there is something for everyone. During the festival, The Loft will be offering cocktails with "tantalising tastes inspired from the Great Gatsby". They sound like they're worth a try.
Make a restaurant reservation to avoid disappointment.
