Sydney Spring Carnival

 

The 2013 Sydney Spring Racing Carnival runs from August through to early October with quality thoroughbred racing action at both Rosehill and Randwick racecourses, headlined by the Epsom Handicap in October.
The Australian Turf Club (ATC) conducts metropolitan racing in Sydney at Rosehill, Randwick, Canterbury and Warwick Farm racecourses.
The major race at Rosehill during the spring carnival takes place in September with the running of the $1,000,000 Group 1 Golden Rose for three-year-olds.
The 2013 Golden Rose is raced over 1400 metres and takes place on Saturday 14th September 2013. It’s the only $1,000,000 race of the spring carnival in Sydney and the huge prizemoney on offer always attracts the best 3yo gallopers going around.
Randwick hosts three fantastic spring race days with George Main Stakes Day, Epsom Handicap Day & Spring Champion Stakes Day in late September and early October.
The two most prestigious races of the Randwick spring carnival are the $350,000 Group 1 George Main Stakes and the $500,000 Group 1 Epsom Handicap which are both raced over a distance of 1600 metres.
The 2013 George Main Stakes is scheduled to be held on Saturday 21st September 2013 while the 2013 Epsom Handicap will take place two weeks later on Saturday 5th October 2013.
